The 3rd Annual Hunter Houle Memorial Foundation Fundraiser proved even bigger and more impactful than the previous two great events, with more than 76 attendees participating in the go-kart racing early in the day on April 27th and more than 300 gathering for a fantastic dinner banquet at ERX Motorpark later that evening.
In the spirit of Hunter, friendship, generosity, grace and joy, people shared their gifts to raise more than $82,600 dollars! It was a day that far exceeded the hopes and expectations of the family and friends who came together to make the event a reality.
This year’s event marked new venues for both the go-kart racing and the banquet. The racing took place at Pro-Kart indoor, where people of all skill levels raced in various categories for a shot at making the finals and possibly one of the custom trophies made by Speedwerx. No matter where people finished, the spirit of friendly competition made for a lot of laughs and great racing.
Moving the banquet to ERX proved to be another win for the event, as the Carlson Motorsport facility allowed plenty of room for 300-plus people, 114 incredible items in the Silent Auction, 17 great items for the live auction, plus a stage emblazoned with Hunter’s smiling face. The food was awesome, the energy was contagious, and a buzz of happiness filled the room.
This event continues to draw famous racers like Tucker Hibbert, Levi Lavallee, Mike Schultz, Mike Houle, Zach Herfindahl, Aaron Scheele, Brad Pake, Logan Christian and more. Just as important, it draws people from all over the country (Tom White came from New Hampshire!) to spend an evening with others celebrating the spirit of a young man who might be gone, but whose presence is still making this world a better place.
The money raised and the energy of this event will go out into the world to help so many other people. While this year’s event has ended, the gifts it gave will soon spread to many more people and organizations.
Thanks to everyone who donated, attended, volunteered, bid, raced and otherwise made the 3rd Annual event so special!
In loving memory of Hunter Houle
